11am Val Bourne - Author of “The Living Jigsaw” Award winning gardener and writer - Val will explain the secret life of your garden - where everything works together in symbiosis. Val pioneers natural gardening because she has personally witnessed the decline in wildlife. Her talk shows how gardeners can have a lovely garden with out chemical props and help sustain the planet.
2pm Dr Roger Lloyd - “Hydrangeas - a gentle obsession” Roger and his wife Jenny have made an amazing garden at Highfield Farm raising huge amounts of money for the NGS in the process. Roger is going to talk on Hydrangeas many di!erent species, all their di!erences and how to grow, prune and propagate them. A totally comprehensive guide from mysteries of colour and where to buy them from.

11am Martin Rickard - “Gardening with ferns” selection of species and how to maximise their garden impact. Martin is past president of the British Pteridological Society and is a world class authority on Ferns. Author of many books on the subject, his vast knowledge and enthusiasm for ferns is contagious. Ferns in your garden are easy/adaptable and super fascinating.
2pm Derry Watkins - Gravel Gardening - low maintenance and drought resistant plants” - Derry is a plantaholic, founder of the Rare Plants Fairs in 1990, Teacher/Writer and Gardener of an ever-evolving, overflowing garden and owner of the wonderful nursery “Special Plants”. Drought tolerant plants are particularly appropriate after the 2022 summer.
Tuesday 9th May 2023 £95
11am Ruth Willmott - Garden designer - “Arts and Crafts for the 21st Century”. Ruth was Gold medal winner Chelsea 2022 designing the William Morris Gardern. My favourite garden there with even the plant list being a beautiful object as well as useful! Ruth will talk about her approach to garden design using many varying examples from her portfolio.
2pm Nick Macer - “Underknown and Underused Garden Trees - A plantsman’s choice” Nick is the owner of Pan Global Plants - a top class rare plant nursery with many plants that he has personally found in remote places as he travelled the world plant collecting. Nick will share some of his specialist knowledge on trees that are unusual and garden worthy.
Tuesday 6th June £95
11am Nigel Hope - “Ashwood Specialities”. Nigel is head gardener and manager of the Ashwood Nursery. Ashwood’s speciality plants have won international acclaim and their award-winning hellebores are regarded as ‘simply the best’ strains ever produced. But the story doesn’t end there… our plant breeders and growers have worked the same magic on hepaticas, hardy cyclamen, hydrangeas, conifers, snowdrops, lewisias, salvias, and Primula auricula.
2pm Sally Jones - “Wildflower Wander”. Sally is owner of Welsh Organic Wildflowers Nursery, Near Abergavenny which she set up 2 years ago after 30 years as an NHS Consultant Paediatrician. She is inspired by wildflowers and will talk on using wildflowers in your garden. If the weather is fine we will conclude with a wildflower walk.
Booking is essential by email: sarah@wyndcliffecourt.com Each event is held in our family house with coffee on arrival and a delicious lunch. Lectures are all held in the newly refurbished Edwardian Garage.
The day starts at 10.30 with coffee and ends around 4pm. There is a limit to the number of places so please book early to avoid disappointment. Sadly it is not possible to do refunds but you may send a friend in your place if you are unable to attend.
